The city is located on the border of Thailand and on the north-eastern bank of the Mekong river where you can have a nice walk along the river or enjoy beautiful sunsets every day. There is a very wide variety of guesthouses, hostels & hotels in Vientiane but we listed up our 3 favorites ones below.

Hotels in Vang Vieng
Vang Vieng is located between Vientiane and Luang Prabang. Most travelers come to Vang Vieng for it’s famous “tubing”, the beautiful hikes and the many outdoor activities in the surrounding area. This cute charming village surprised us a lot and we recommend you to stay here for at least 2-3 nights. There are a lot of hotels in Vang Vieng but we can highly recommend these accommodations.

Hotels in Luang Prabang
Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this lovely town is definitely the favorite destination of our Laos itinerary. Luang Prabang is a perfect mix of culture, nature, shops, and restaurants surrounded by the mighty Mekong River. Many French colonial buildings are transformed into charming hostels, lovely homestays and boutique hotels in Luang Prabang. Count at least 3-4 days to explore all the beauty in the surrounding area.
